DIRECTION
You reach from the bottom towards light.
You wrap your cape
tightly around you,
you know what you want.
There is only one direction:
no opposing currents
can stop your ascent.
You catch your breath,
let your cape fly open
you are a kite.
You yield to the light:
heart-shaped,
resting on the waves
greeting the brightness
of the sky
with a smile.
